Paivio today
Paivio is an early-stage study product. Anyone may view the public website and create a free account while Paivio is in beta. You must be at least 18 years old to use Paivio. Features and limits may change as the product develops.
Your account
Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at info@paivio.ai if you believe someone else has access to it.
Paid plans and payment
During the beta, Paivio offers no paid plan, and accounts with a beta spot have full access free while the beta lasts. We email you at least 30 days before the beta ends.
Paivio has a Free plan and paid plans, Plus and Pro, billed monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay at checkout. Any sales tax or VAT is shown at checkout before you pay.
A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period, at the plan's current price, until you cancel. You can cancel in Settings at any time. When the period you paid for ends, your account moves to Free.
You can also buy top-up credits. Credits you buy last 12 months from purchase.
Stripe may refund within 60 days of purchase and applies regional cooling-off periods. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Unused top-up credits expire 12 months after purchase.
Accounts created before paid plans launched were given Plus free for 60 days. Those accounts also hold a beta spot, so they keep full access free while the beta lasts.
If a plan's price changes, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies. It takes effect at your next renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then.
Stripe is the merchant of record (the legal seller). Your card details go directly to Stripe and are not stored by Paivio. Billing questions can be sent to info@paivio.ai.
Your study material
You keep ownership of material you upload. You give Paivio permission to store, process, and transform that material only as needed to provide the service, including creating cards, organizing concepts, and presenting study sessions. Only upload material you have the right to use.
Acceptable use
Do not use Paivio to:
- break the law or violate another person's rights;
- upload malicious code or interfere with the service;
- probe, bypass, or misuse security or access controls; or
- access another person's account or private study material.
AI and study guidance
Paivio uses software and AI to generate and organize study material. Generated content can be incomplete or wrong, so check important material against trusted sources. The service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a guarantee of any exam result, grade, recall level, or learning outcome.
Availability and changes
The service may change, experience interruptions, or remove experimental features as it develops. We may limit or end access when needed to protect Paivio, its users, or the service, or when these terms are violated. You may stop using Paivio at any time; you can delete your account from Settings.
Paivio's materials
Paivio owns the service, software, site design, brand, and Paivio-provided content, excluding material you upload. These terms do not give you the right to copy, resell, or redistribute those materials except as the law allows.
Privacy
The privacy policy explains how Paivio handles waitlist, account, study, site-measurement, and advertising-measurement data.
Paivio uses Meta advertising measurement for visits to eligible public pages, waitlist signups, and confirmed account signups, and Meta is the recipient. UK and EEA visitors are asked first; Meta advertising measurement starts only after “Allow measurement,” while US visitors keep the existing default-on flow. The privacy policy lists the events and matching details sent, how long Paivio keeps them, and how to opt out with Global Privacy Control. We never sell your decks, study history, or profile, and the only study fact we share for advertising is a one-time signal that your account has started studying.
Disclaimers and responsibility
Paivio is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent the law permits. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or suitable for a particular course or exam. To the extent the law permits, Paivio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continuing to use Paivio after updated terms take effect means you accept them. Questions can be sent to info@paivio.ai.
